The G Insight - Long-Term Thinking

The people who excel in various pursuits all adopt long-term thinking.

People like Jeff Bezos and Warren Buffett all attribute at least part of their success to having long-term thinking.

Thinking and planning for the long term come with a couple of benefits:

  • Allows you to make better decisions because you're not thinking in days or weeks but in years and decades.

  • Reduces anxiety because you can anticipate and prepare for different setbacks on your way to achieving your goals.

But there's one problem.

In most things in life, we don't know what we would want 1-3-5-10 years from now.

We change over time, and the same is true for our goals.

But you know what doesn't change?

Our desire to be healthy.

So this is one of the few areas of life where our goals don't change over a long period of time, allowing us to take a long-term view.

So for this week's challenge, I want you to adopt a long-term view of your health.

Start doing things today that will put you in a better position health-wise over time.

Here are a few things you can try:

  • Start walking at least 5-10k steps a day.

  • Remove processed sugars from our diet.

  • Eat 2 or 3 high-protein meals.

Don't do all of these at once.

It's too much, and it's likely that you'll fail.

But put one healthy habit in your daily routine that will benefit your health long-term.

As you start seeing results, you can adopt the same long-term mindset in other areas of your life.

And when you look back one, three, or five years behind, you'll see how far you've come.
