Every time a mobster meets a civilian (a person who isn't part of the mafia), they bring a gift.

Something that shows they care about the person.

So if you want to establish better relationships, you can do the same thing.

Next time you want to impress or work with someone, bring them a gift, and then don't ask for anything.

If you give them something and then ask for a favor, it looks and feels transactional.

But if you give them a gift and don't ask for anything in return, they'll want to reciprocate.

After all, who doesn't love people who give without needing anything in return?
